<contentInstance>.deletionCnt : inconsistency between TS-0001 and TS-0004
Problem
In TS-0001, Table 9.6.7-2: Attributes of resource, the following text is part of the deletionCnt attribute's description:
A notification for a new resource creation decremenets the counter by 1. A single notification event regardless of the number of subscriptions, possibly generating multiple notifications, is considered as one retrieval.
In TS-0004, clause 7.4.7.2.2 Retrieve, the following text is part of the description:
.. The deletionCnt is only decremented once per request. ...
And further in a note:
Notifications containing the created content instance do not decrement the deletionCnt attribute. If this is undesirable, ACPs can be used to restrict subscriptions to the parent .
Discussion
The text in TS-0001 is confusing and indirectly says that a notification decrements the counter by 1. This actually means that when creating a resource the deletionCnt attribute is already decremented if there is one or more subscriptions listening for creations.
(Besides, this kind of text should not be in TS-0001, but only in TS-0004's create procedure)
However, the text in TS-0004 says that a notification does not decrement the deletionCnt when creating the resource. This is a contradiction.
Proposal
- Remove the quoted text from TS-0001.
- Promote the text in TS-0004 from "Note" to normative text.
